Atomic Knitting Gives Back: Supporting Renewable Energy in Brazil

At Atomic Knitting, we believe in not only creating products that inspire creativity but also in contributing to a better, greener world. That’s why we’re proud to donate 1% of our profits to Ecologi.com, an organisation dedicated to fighting climate change by funding impactful environmental projects worldwide.

This summer, we’re excited to share that our donations have contributed to the generation of renewable wind energy in Brazil. This project is part of the Ventos do Piauí wind complex, a network of wind power plants that are playing a key role in reducing carbon emissions. Over the next 10 years, the project is expected to prevent the release of an astounding 430,000 tonnes of CO2e annually.

By passing electricity from the wind turbines into Brazil’s Interconnected System, the project helps reduce the country’s reliance on fossil fuels. The wind complex features seven groups of turbines, each generating 2.1 MW of clean, renewable energy.
